Do you take your makeup off and wash your face every night? If you don’t, you’re not alone! Many women struggle to accomplish this simple night time skincare routine on a daily basis. I get it. You’re tired, it’s been a long day, and you just don’t want to take off your makeup and wash your face. You’d rather be laying in bed watching random TikTok videos or doing some online shopping, right?!
Why your nighttime skincare routine is important
While it is tempting to skip your nighttime skin care routine because you’re exhausted, there are a few good reasons to not skip it! For one thing, if you wash your face before heading to bed, it will help you sleep better. When we have routines associated with our bedtime routine, it helps our bodies and minds prepare to rest. This will help you feel more relaxed before bed and fall asleep faster. Also, besides the well known facts that washing off your makeup each night helps to prevent signs of aging and leads to fewer breakouts, having a nighttime skincare routine is a simple way to practice self care.
In these days of unprecedented demands on our mental and physical time because of covid, taking care of yourself has become even more important. I fully believe that it’s super important to make sure you are taking care of yourself mentally and physically every day. This is the only way that you will be able to be the wife, mother, sister, daughter, etc. that you want to be.
How I take care of my skin at night
There are a lot of ways and products that you can use to remove your makeup during your nighttime skincare routine. My favorite way is to use a makeup remover cloth. The Emmi Face Cloth is perfect for removing makeup without any harsh chemicals because it only needs water! It’s so simple to use. I just get my cloth wet with warm water and then use it to gently rub the makeup and dirt off my skin. The cloth can be thrown in the wash and re-used, too! It’s a total game changer for busy women like me.
After I remove my makeup, I wash my face with my usual cleanser, and follow it up with toner and moisturizer. If I’m feeling extra fancy or I just need a few more minutes of self care, I’ll apply a face mask to pamper my skin even more.
Now that I've shared how easy it is to take a few minutes to care for your skin every night, I hope you’ll recommit to your nighttime skincare routine. I know I’ll be stocking up on more Emmi face cloths so I always have a clean one on hand to remove my makeup with! While we are on the subject, what are your favorite face masks? I’m always on the lookout for good ones.
