Our commitment
Love Olive Co. is committed to making loveoliveco.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard only, screen magnification, or other assistive technology. We treat accessibility as ongoing work, not a one-time project.
Conformance status
We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. At present this site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA: most of the site meets the standard, a small number of known issues do not yet, and remediation is in progress.
What we have done so far
- Added alternative text to meaningful images and marked purely decorative images so assistive technology can skip them.
- Given accessible names to icon-only buttons and links, so their purpose is announced rather than read as βbuttonβ.
- Labelled form controls, including the search field, product quantity inputs and the collection sort menu.
- Restored a visible keyboard focus indicator, so keyboard users can always see where they are on the page.
- Added a βSkip to contentβ link as the first item reachable by keyboard.
- Added a main landmark and corrected page heading structure so screen-reader users can navigate by region and by heading.
- Raised text and link colour contrast to meet the 4.5:1 ratio required at Level AA across the pages we reviewed.
- Increased the size of tap targets on mobile so controls are easier to activate accurately.
- Made the cart, account and wishlist controls operable by keyboard, and given them names that assistive technology announces correctly.
- Underlined in-page contact links so they are distinguishable without relying on colour alone.
Known limitations
We want to be straightforward about what is still outstanding:
-
Product carousels and keyboard order. On product pages, the slides of a product carousel that are currently scrolled out of view are hidden from screen readers but can still be reached with the Tab key. A keyboard user can therefore land on a link that a screen reader does not announce. This is scheduled for remediation.
-
βBack to topβ button. The arrow on the floating βback to topβ button does not yet have enough contrast against its background to meet the 3:1 ratio required for non-text elements. This is scheduled for remediation.
-
Third-party features. Parts of the site are provided by outside services β including the wishlist, customer reviews, marketing sign-up forms and the homepage slideshow. We do not control their code directly, and we are working with those providers on the accessibility issues we have identified.

Assessment approach
This statement is based on a review of the site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA carried out in September 2026. The review combined automated testing (axe-core, full WCAG 2.1 A and AA rule set, across the home page, collection pages, product pages, cart, contact page and search results, at both desktop and mobile widths) with manual keyboard testing and checks of the names and roles exposed to assistive technology. Automated tools cannot detect every accessibility barrier, so this statement describes our best current understanding rather than a guarantee.
Statement last reviewed: 10 September 2026.
